Day 1-4: Cape Town
Guests are met upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport by an African Sky Representative, who will present them with their vouchers and a detailed map of their South African Golf Vacation.
Guests then travel to the Ambassador Hotel, situated on Cape Town's famous Platinum Mile, where they will spend three evenings on a bed and breakfast basis. During their stay in Cape Town, rounds of golf are included at the Atlantic Beach, Mowbray and Royal Cape golf courses.
Atlantic Beach is a championship links golf course, built in the tradition of fabled courses such as St Andrews and Pebble Beach. Winding its way through the undulating dunes, and peppered with islands of Fynbos, this challenging (yet fair) course has been designed to be as enjoyable for the expert as it is for the weekend golfer. Mowbray is a parkland course, which provides an excellent test of golf. The terrain is flat, but plenty of trees and water features make for an interesting experience. The beauty of the mountains and abundant wild life dominate the scenery. On a benign day the Royal Cape golf course can be forgiving, but in a stiff breeze it can be an absorbing and oftena very difficult challenge. A good stretch of holes on the outward loop includes the 433 meter par-four 3rd, where a par against the wind is a near miracle, and the 5th, a longish par-5 where a slice will be swallowed up in the tall trees on the right and a hook will end up out-of-bounds on the railway line.
Overnight: Ambassador
Meals:Breakfast and Dinner
Day 5-8: Kwa Zulu Natal
Guests travel to Cape Town International Airport, where they drop off their rented vehicle and board a flight to Durban. At Durban Airport guests collect their rental vehicle and travel the South Coast Road to the San Lameer Golf Resort, where four evenings are spent at the San Lameer Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Rounds of golf are included at San Lameer, Southbroom and the Wild Coast
.Although only 6100m long, the San Lameer 18-hole par-72 course is a rare challenge as it is built on one of the last wetlands in South Africa, with water hazards appearing on just about every hole. The putting surfaces are smooth and the sloping fairways, bordered by splendid forests, are well kept. Water comes into play on 10 holes. Our advice is to bring more than enough balls. San Lameer is a parkland course situated in a nature conservation area.
On each of the 18 holes of the Southbroom golf course the skill of even the most accomplished golfer is tested. The course is both picturesque and interesting, with a par-71 layout. The par-3 fourth hole measuring just 114 meters (extremely short by normal standards), is a gem. This is however, not an easy hole when the wind gets up. Dams and a river flowing to the sea are features and golfers should be most careful when negotiating this charming course.
Overnight: San Lameer
Meals: Breakfast
Day 8-12: Sun City
Guests travel to Durban International Airport, where the rental vehicle is dropped off and from where guests fly to Johannesburg and collect their new rental vehicle at the airport. Guests then make their way to Sun City where three evenings are spent at the Sun City Cabanas.
One round of golf is included at the Gary Player Country Club and a round is also included at the Lost City Golf Course.
Overnight: Cabanas
Meals: Breakfast
On day twelve guests travel to Johannesburg Airport, where their rental vehicle is returned after a memorable South African golf tour.
