The Boschenmeer golf course, located at the scenic town of Paarl in the Cape Winelands, is a David Frost signature course and the first 27-hole layout in the Western Cape. The majestic Paarl Franschhoek mountain range is the backdrop to your back-swing. The mature trees, artfully conceived water features, and the famous Berg River all add to the layout that challenges the professional and rewards the amateur.
Designer David Frost has created a golf course of true championship standard. The course affords the player a first class golfing experience where the low handicap and scratch golfer will be challenged, yet the less experienced weekend player will find it not too daunting. The 27-hole layout lends itself to championship play, with more simultaneous rounds possible, offering superb golfing. This means less time is taken to reach the final rounds.
Pro-golfer David Frost grew up in the Paarl/Franschhoek region. This top professional has brought his years of skill, knowledge and international experience of playing various golf courses, and incorporated his knowledge with the golf course design team to create this stunning 27-hole venue that consists of the “Berg River Nine” (1-9), the “Paarl Nine” (10 – 18), and the new “Boschenmeer Nine” (19-27).
The upgrade of the second nine holes has been completed, and together with the new Boschenmeer nine holes, offers world-class beauty and playability - to the extent that readers of Golf Today magazine voted the fourth hole of the Boschenmeer Nine as the best in South Africa in 2002.
The scenic beauty of the Paarl Valley compels visitors to get in the car and drive along the many scenic routes in the valley and along the surrounding mountains. The richness in fauna and flora even attracted the attention of Charles Darwin, father of the theory of evolution, when he visited Paarl in 1836.
